B-Movie Brunch
This category is an example of our identity crisis, after the print run wheezed out in 2012, and we were figuring out what to do next. During this time, I was conflicted between retiring ESR completely and starting something new, or in finding new ways to revitalize the magazine somehow.
B-Movie Brunch showcases reviews of “B” movies from the 1930s to the present. Some are pubic domain chestnuts that appear in multi-DVD sets from here to eternity; others are obscurities that still only exist in faded UHF memories, and multi-generational “collectors’ copies”. A few of these reviews previously appeared in blogs (either ESR’s official blog, or several of the others I started and abandoned while thinking of what to do next).
